DAY 01

Welcome to the “American Venice.  Historic missions, River Walk Restaurants, Spanish architecture and a beautiful river.  This evening, meet your fellow travelers at a welcome reception.

DAY 02                          

ACTIVITY:

San Antonio

UNESCO World Heritage sites

Mission San Jose

The Alamo

Paseo del Rio

King William Historic District

 

Today begins with a guided tour of San Antonio.  History and culture abound with a visit to two UNESCO World Heritage sites.  Visit the Mission San Jose, the second mission established by Fray Antonio Margil de Jesus in 1720.  Then visit one of America’s most historic sites, the Alamo, which played a critical role in the Texas Revolution.  Next, board a boat and drift along the Paseo del Rio, the River Walk, and learn more about the architecture and culture the city.  This evening, enjoy the local flavors of Texas during dinner in the King William Historic District at a restored convent.

DAY 03

Stonewall

LBJ Ranch

Fredericksbur

 

Journey to Stonewall and enjoy a visit to the LBJ Ranch, birthplace of President Lyndon B. Johnson.  On your tour you will view the “Texas White House” and learn about living in the Texas Hill Country.  Continue to the heart of the rural Hill Country and the German settlement of Fredericksburg.  Take time to independently explore the quaint shops.  Enjoy the evening at leisure to explore San Antonio’s beautiful River Walk. 

DAY 04                          

                         

ACTIVITY:

Witte Museum 

OR

San Antonio Botanical Gardens

 

This morning, it’s your choice! Visit the South Texas Heritage Center at the Witte Museum, an interactive museum dedicated to sharing the stories of San Antonio’s people and the land the shaped their live. OR, explore the 33-acre ground of the San Antonio Botanical Gardens with expansive rose gardens.  Next, browse for one-of-a-kind goods at El Mercado, the Mexican Marketplace.  This evening, visit a picturesque olive orchard.  Enjoy a wine and olive oil tasting and learn about its history before indulging in a spectacular Texas- inspired farewell dinner.
